TCG Market Index: Mickey Mouse, Lorcana and Pokémon Lead Collectibles Higher
The trading card market continues to show strength in 2026, with several major TCGs and characters significantly outperforming traditional financial markets over the last three months.
Across 30 markets tracked by Gempire, Mickey Mouse leads the way with a 106% increase over the past three months. The broader Disney Lorcana market isn't far behind, climbing 103% over the same period.
In the sports card world, Pete Crow-Armstrong has surged 87%, as he battles Ohtani for MVP.
The performance highlights just how widespread strength across the collectible card market has become, extending well beyond Pokémon.
Pokémon's Biggest Characters Continue to Climb
Pokémon remains one of the strongest areas of the collectibles market, although performance varies considerably across characters and eras.
Rayquaza leads the major Pokémon character indexes with a 71% increase over the past three months, followed by Umbreon at 56%, Lugia at 55% and Mew at 54%.
Other notable gains include Pikachu at 43%, Charizard at 38% and Gengar at 31%.
The broader Pokémon market has increased approximately 30% over the same period.
Much of that strength, however, has been concentrated in vintage cards. While many of Pokémon's most established vintage cards have continued climbing, modern prices have declined over the same period.
That divergence has created an increasingly noticeable split within the Pokémon market, with vintage cards driving much of the broader market's recent gains.
Riftbound Is Quickly Becoming a Market to Watch
One of the more interesting developments has been the emergence of Riftbound, the League of Legends Trading Card Game.
Despite being one of the newest TCG markets tracked, Riftbound has climbed 30% over the last three months, putting its performance roughly in line with the broader Pokémon market.
The early momentum is notable given how young Riftbound's secondary market remains compared with established franchises such as Pokémon.
Lorcana provides another example of how quickly a newer TCG can develop a meaningful collectibles market. Its 103% three-month gain places it among the strongest markets tracked over the period.
The TCG Market Is Getting Bigger
Perhaps the most interesting takeaway isn't which character finished first. It's the diversity of markets appearing near the top.
Pokémon remains a major force in collectible cards, but Lorcana's continued strength and Riftbound's early momentum show collector demand spreading across an increasingly broad TCG market.
At the same time, performance within individual markets remains highly uneven. Vintage Pokémon has generally outperformed modern Pokémon recently, while individual characters and cards can move very differently from their broader franchises.
Across the 30 markets tracked, some of the strongest gains are coming from established vintage Pokémon characters, while others are being generated by significantly newer TCGs.
And for now, Mickey Mouse sits at the top of them all.
Methodology: TCG indexes are based on graded card prices. Lorcana and Riftbound indexes are based on ungraded card prices. Percentage changes reflect the three-month period shown and are intended to track changes in collectible market prices, not investment returns.
