TCG Player Rankings: Rayquaza Leads the Market in August 2026
Rayquaza has claimed the top spot in Gempire’s August 2026 TCG Player Rankings, delivering the strongest market performance across the six-month, three-month and one-month periods.
The latest rankings compare five recognizable characters/players from across the trading card market: Rayquaza, Ahri, Monkey D. Luffy, Son Goku and Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Rather than measuring popularity alone, the rankings track how the market for each player has performed over multiple time horizons.
The result is a cross-TCG snapshot that captures both sustained growth and recent momentum.
Rayquaza Takes the Crown
Rayquaza separates itself from the field with a remarkable 151% increase over the past six months. That performance is driven by Delta Reign’s upcoming November 2026 release in North America.
The strength is not limited to one long-term surge. Rayquaza also ranks first over three months at 68% and over one month at 31%. Leading every measured period makes Rayquaza the most complete performer in the August rankings.
Pokémon remains the largest and most established TCG represented, but Rayquaza’s results show that collectors are still rewarding specific characters and cards with exceptional momentum—even within a mature market.
Riftbound Gains Momentum Behind Ahri
Ahri takes the No. 2 position across all three time periods, rising 55% over six months, 45% over three months and 22% during the latest month.
Her consistency is particularly notable because Riftbound is still a new card game establishing its place in the broader TCG market. While Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball and One Piece already have established collector bases, Riftbound is building momentum around the strength of the League of Legends universe and its recognizable roster of champions.
Ahri’s performance provides an early signal of that growing interest. Her 55% six-month gain is supported by increases across both the three-month and one-month windows, suggesting that demand has continued to develop rather than depending entirely on an initial release surge.
With Ahri holding second place across every measured period, Riftbound is already competing for collector attention alongside several of the most established franchises in the hobby. Whether that momentum can continue as the game matures will be one of the most interesting developments to monitor in future rankings.
Goku Moves Ahead of Luffy
Over six months, Luffy narrowly holds third place with a 40% increase, edging Son Goku at 39%. The order changes over the three-month period, with Goku rising to No. 3 at 35% while Luffy falls to fourth at 19%.
Goku’s recent strength coincides with a broader resurgence across the Dragon Ball card market. High-end Dragon Ball Z cards have begun setting new benchmarks, while newer Fusion World releases are attracting stronger collector demand—its three latest sets reportedly outsold every previous release from the game. This does not erase Luffy’s stronger six-month return, but it shows a clear shift in momentum as Dragon Ball gains ground across both vintage collectibles and modern products.
Dragon Ball fans should circle September 17 on their calendars, with the franchise preparing for a major announcement amid an already packed slate extending through late 2026 and into 2027
