Typhlosion T17 Sets New Record With $750,000 Sale
A 2000 Pokémon Neo Genesis 1st Edition Typhlosion #17 graded PSA 10 has sold for $750,000 in an all-cash private transaction, setting a new record for the iconic vintage card.
The sale was brokered by Nostalgix and also carries an MBA Gold Diamond designation, an additional certification reserved for exceptional examples within an assigned grade.
The $750,000 transaction surpasses the card’s previous record of $415,500, established through ALT earlier this year. That represents an increase of $334,500—or approximately 81%—in a matter of months.
Typhlosion #17, commonly known as “T17,” is one of the most condition-sensitive cards from the 2000 Neo Genesis set. PSA currently reports just 13 copies in Gem Mint 10 condition, compared with 282 PSA 9s, making it one of the scarcest PSA 10 holos from the early English Pokémon era.
At $750,000, the transaction also becomes one of the largest reported sales of an individual English WOTC-era Pokémon card. It trails the $954,800 public-auction sale of a 1st Edition Base Set Charizard PSA 10 at Goldin in February 2026, while moving T17 into a completely new tier of the vintage market.
The result establishes a new benchmark not only for Typhlosion, but also for the broader Neo Genesis market—demonstrating the premium collectors are willing to place on elite, low-population examples of the hobby’s most important vintage cards.
